Lacie L. Shook
Attorney

Attorney Lacie L. Shook has been with Schmidlkofer & Toth, LLC since 2005.  Lacie grew up in Knoxville, Illinois and attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois where she received innumerable scholarships and completed her undergraduate education with Magna Cum Laude distinction in just three years (B.B. Finance 2003).  At Western Illinois, Lacie was a member of the Illinois Centennial Honors College (Honors Scholar), Beta Gamma Sigma (Chapter President), Golden Key Honor Society (Charter member, Vice President), Phi Kappa Phi and Mortar Board. Lacie founded Legal Association at Western Illinois and served as an executive member of an additional six organizations.  As a top honors scholar, Lacie delivered the Honors Convocation valediction.

In 2003, Lacie moved to Milwaukee to attend Marquette University Law School (JD/MBA 2006).  Following her first year of law school, Lacie began the MBA program at Marquette Business School.  While working on her JD/MBA, Lacie clerked at the United States Bankruptcy Court, Michael F. Hupy & Associates and Kohner, Mann & Kailas.  In 2005, Lacie also worked under Professor John Kircher as a research assistant.  During her third year of law school, Lacie began working at Schmidlkofer & Toth, LLC as a law clerk.  In May 2006, Lacie became Schmidlkofer & Toth’s first associate.

For over four years, Lacie has volunteered at the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic.  During law school, Lacie served the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic as a volunteer, a student coordinator and as a member of the Clinic’s steering committee.  She currently serves the Clinic as a volunteer attorney. Lacie’s other pro-bono efforts include serving as a volunteer attorney for the Wisconsin State Bar’s Business Assistance Program and volunteering at the Milwaukee Bar Association and Fox 6 News’ Law Day phone bank. 

Lacie’s legal practice involves all aspects of corporate and business law, including business start-ups, planning, transfers and litigation.  Lacie handles matters involving contracts, non-compete agreements, civil litigation, employment matters, and real estate transactions.  She is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Milwaukee Bar Association. 

Currently, Lacie serves on the boards of directors for a number of for- and non-profit companies, including Accident Scene Management, Inc. (accidentscene.net) and the Center for Teaching Entrepreneurship (ceoofme.biz).  She also works as a researcher for Scoll & Remeika, a genealogy research firm.  

Aside from the practice of law, traveling to the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, going to concerts and boating. Lacie resides in Sussex with her husband.
